Dr. Elmar Stachels served as the Chief Executive Officer of Greater China for all business units at Bayer AG since 2001. Dr. Stachels was an expert on Asian markets in the early 1990s, with the spin-off of Bayer’s textile dyes as DyStar, which was active with production facilities in Asia, as well as legally independent subsidiaries in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. Dr. Stachels worked at Shah regime. He served half a decade as President of Bayer Mexico, when the foundation of NAFTA reshaped the regional competitive landscape. Dr. Stachels has brilliant career in political change and the subsequent need for strategic and structural adjustment of the chemical industry. He is a Strategic Council’s expert on Asia. Dr. Stachels was a Consultant and Member of various advisory boards. Dr. Stachels serves as the Chairman and Member of Advisory Board at InterMed Discovery GmbH. He has been a Member of the Supervisory Board of Techem AG. (AKA Techem GmbH), since October 2, 2007. He serves as a Member of the Strategic Council at Stratley AG. Dr. Stachels holds a PhD in Law.
