Mr. Borgonjon is a Belgian national and a recognized Business Consultant in China. He has been based in China for over 20 years and was one of the founders of InterChina in 1994.
Mr. Borgonjon speaks Dutch, Mandarin, English, French and Spanish.
He has service expertise in strategy development, managing operations in China, and lobbying & negotiation. Meanwhile, Mr. Borgonjon has sector expertise in automotives, machinery, steel and food & beverage, among others.
He is graduated from Leuven University (Belgium) with a Bachelors in Chinese Studies, followed by two years at Nanjing University (China), and then obtained his MBA from Henley (United Kingdom).
Mr. Borgonjon pioneered business education in China as the Director of the China Europe Management Institute (CEMI) in Beijing. He was also the Chief Negotiator, one of the founders and the first President of the China Europe International Business School, CEIBS (http://www.ceibs.edu/) in Shanghai (leading Chinese Business School, ranked 11th worldwide by the Financial Times in 2006), and currently remains on the Board of Directors.
Jan Borgonjon was appointed as an Advisor to the Belgian Minister of Foreign Trade in 1997, and established the Belgian Business Association in Beijing in 1998. Since then, Mr. Borgonjon has served as the Vice-President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China (2002, 2005-2007) and the Vice-President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (2002-2003) where he currently remains on the Executive Committee.
He is also a founding partner of InterChina and concurrently holds the positions of Chairman and President. He is based out of InterChina’s Beijing Office.
